LCSS’s Public Policy platform brings together policy makers, academics and students within the broad field of Public Policy.The platform has set itself an ambitious agenda of organising regular roundtable discussions on topical issues with expert names, informal debates as well as community projects
The end of 2013 has seen the launch of LCSS’s Public Policy platform bringing together policy makers, academics and students within the broad field of Public Policy. The platform has set itself an ambitious agenda of organising regular roundtable discussions on topical issues with expert names, informal debates as well as community projects attempting to directly address the issues and challenges which certain sections of society may be facing. The functioning of this platform has been aided by a team with a wealth of experience within the social sciences discipline.
As well as setting out a fascinating agenda, the platform has made a fast start having organised its first roundtable of the term on Foreign Policy-Making in Britain: the Role of Institutional Power as well as a number of informal discussion forums with invaluable presentations on key policy topics.
British Engagement Project for Displaced Children seeks to enhance understanding of British values, culture, and history through a professionally developed non-informal curricula designed for displaced (i.e. asylum seekers, refugees, forced migrants) families children, aged between 11-16.
An opportunity for PhD and early-career researchers from diverse social science and humanities disciplines to meet and share their research experiences.
On 27 November 2015, LCSS has successfully organised a roundtable at SOAS to discuss the recent Migrant Crisis
In August 2015, LCSS has successfully conducted the Training Programme on Ottoman and Archival Studies, which took place in London and Oxford.
